Laminate Flooring

Laminate is a lower cost alternative to engineered hardwood with a photo layer on top instead of real wood.

Advantages:

Very durable and attractive
Highly resistant to scratches and gouging
Stable in conditions of humidity, moisture and temperature variations
Can have the look of real wood or tile

Disadvantages:

While ok with moisture, it is not waterproof

Best Uses:

Hallways, high-traffic areas
Anywhere that isn’t susceptible to flooding , excessive moisture or humidity.
Can be used over concrete and in basements

Uses to Avoid:

High moisture areas and areas that can get wet often
Where water can get into the base layer which would cause swelling
