Laminate Flooring

Laminate is a lower cost alternative to engineered hardwood with a photo layer on top instead of real wood.

Advantages:
  • Very durable and attractive
  • Highly resistant to scratches and gouging
  • Stable in conditions of humidity, moisture and temperature variations 
  • Can have the look of real wood or tile
Disadvantages:
  • While ok with moisture, it is not waterproof
Best Uses:
  • Hallways, high-traffic areas
  • Anywhere that isn’t susceptible to flooding , excessive moisture or humidity.
  • Can be used over concrete and in basements
Uses to Avoid:
  • High moisture areas and areas that can get wet often
  •  Where water can get into the base layer which would cause swelling
